Bali is a magical island filled with rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and a deep spiritual essence. To help you prepare for your trip, here are some key things to know before you arrive:
The local language is Bahasa Indonesia, but Balinese is also spoken by locals. Most people in Bali speak English, especially in tourist areas.
Here are some helpful phrases:
⭐️ Terima kasih (teh-ree-mah kah-see) – Thank you
⭐️ Selamat pagi (suh-lah-maht pah-gee) – Good morning
⭐️ Permisi (per-mee-see) – Excuse me
⭐️ Tolong (toh-long) – Please
⭐️ Berapa harganya? (buh-rah-pah har-gah-nyah) – How much does this cost?
Religion:
🌿 Bali is a Hindu island, and you’ll see beautiful temples, daily offerings, and ceremonies everywhere. Please be respectful of local customs and dress modestly when visiting temples.
Where We’ll Be Staying:
We’ll be in Canggu, one of Bali’s main hubs known for its vibrant cafés, creative energy, and stunning beaches. It’s the perfect place to relax, be inspired, and connect with like-minded souls.
Getting Around:
Gojek & Grab: These are the main ride-hailing and food delivery apps in Bali, offering everything from taxis to motorbike rides and nearly every type of cuisine.
Airport Transfers: We recommend using Grab or Gojek to get to the villa from the airport
Free Time Exploration: You can easily book taxis through these apps to explore other areas during your free time.
Water & Food:
Do not drink tap water – we will provide filtered water at the villa.
For the meals not included in the retreat, you can order from Gojek or Grab, which deliver food from all over Bali straight to your villa.
Arrival & Extra Time in Bali:
We highly recommend arriving the night before the retreat begins so you can rest and settle in.
If you have time before or after the retreat, Bali is an incredible place to explore! You’ll leave the retreat feeling refreshed, inspired, and full of creativity – the perfect mindset to dive into new experiences.
Here are some recommendations for before/after the retreat:
🌿 Go to Sidemen – A peaceful escape into Bali’s rice terraces and traditional villages.
🐢 Island Hop – Take a boat to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, or the Gili Islands for crystal-clear waters and marine adventures.
🏄🏼♀️ Head to Lombok- another island nearby that is a different culture & vibe from Bali and has amazing surf!
Bali is a place that stays with you long after you leave. Once you’ve been refreshed, healed, and creatively reawakened, it’s the perfect time to embrace the adventure and beauty of this island!
We can’t wait to welcome you to paradise! 🌺✨
